Vents are the openings at the back of a jacket. They help the jacket sit properly when standing, sitting or putting hands in pockets.

Centre Vent

A centre vent is a single opening at the back of the jacket. It is common on many ready-to-wear jackets and can be a simple, practical choice.

Side Vents

Side vents are two openings, one on each side of the back. They are often favoured in British tailoring because they allow the jacket to drape neatly while giving ease of movement.

Livingston Advice

For many suits and tweed jackets, side vents are a classic and flattering option. They suit traditional tailoring well and are especially practical when the jacket is worn regularly.
